I never really liked baseball much when I was growing up. I tried to watch the Orioles when I was younger, but they weren’t very good and when they were bad luck seemed to follow them around. When Peter Angelos refused to sign Mike Mussina even though he was willing to take a pay cut I pretty much gave up on the Orioles.
In 2005 the Nationals came to town and got off to a hot start. I missed much of this as I was in college until May and then took a trip to Europe right afterwards. My first Nationals game was in June of 2005. The beat the Oakland A’s and Barry Zito on a Nick Johnson two run homer. I have been hooked ever since.
